Route Notes BC at yak herder but west of peak Biv at glacier below north side of West Ridge. After arrived BC, 6 days of snowfall drifting to depth of a meter. Recce/acclimatization afterwards for another week or so. Wanted to do NW Face but seracs very precarious stage and switched goal to SW Ridge. On 4 April Murphy and Philips tried for West Summit from Biv 2 from complicated ice field, abandoned this, and stayed night at Biv 2 and on 5th down and left mountain. Others who arrived at Biv 2: Tattesal down with Murphy and Philips while Delaney, Haszko, Stevenson and sirdar Chewang Rinzing up glacier to 6000m, crossed couloir on hard ice, then turned back in couloir (half team now out of climb, it got windy and storm perhaps coming, were not well acclimatized and were well below summit which was a km away).
