| Route Notes | Approach: From Kyanjin Gompa Biv1 24/10 4500m Biv2 25/10 5150m Hpt 26/10 5800m by Ondra Mrklovsky. Climb abandoned on 26/10 due to bad snow conditions, danger of avalanches; Climbing route: South Face Members had two bivys after Kyanjin, first one at 4500m, second one at 5150m. Hodek aborted his attempt and stayed at second bivy, he is not a climber and felt he was not up for the challenge. Mrklovsky tried to solo climb Ganchenpo from the south. He set off from bivy 2 at 6 am on 26/10. Snow conditions were quite bad, it was hot and the South Face was prone to avalanches. Mrklovsky decided to turn back at 5800m at around 10:30 am, 100m above the saddle on the south side. Back to the tent at bivy 2 at 1 pm and went further down to 4300m where he spent the night. Next day back to Kyanjin both members. Oxygen: Not taken, not used Fixed rope: None Other peaks: Naya Kanga, Mrklovsky attempted Langtang Lirung before with Huserka and Holecek. |
