| Route Notes | From BC to 5000m no snow, 5500m very deep snow to C1. From C1 saw mountain directly in front but glacier ahead to West Face. Had steps and every step there were crevasses which could not cross and going around impossible because hanging ice fields and right side deep glacier, so not possible to go up on right side. Had planned only one high camp (C1) so could not go to ridge on left which was sharp and also had crevasses and had no time for it. "Next time I think we have a little bit more time and some tents more but I think it is very difficult to cross the glacier." Maybe because in to two years possible with more members. Decided climb finished on 18 May. Did not get onto face actually. No time to try on another side of mountain. 3 Nepalese ([non-climbing] members) to base camp only. |
