| Route Notes | This mountain previously known as Ganesh III until re-surveyed in early 1990's. Many crevasses just below C3 requiring lengthy route to go around them. After C3 made, all down to BC for 3 days rest, then up to C3 and fixing rope above C3. Very steep ice at 6800m and rock band from 6600m mixed rock and very difficult. On 21st all down to BC because more importantly route above 6820m very steep and frequently climbers falling here (only left side of rock band is possible). Tamangs were on Everest Col route last winter and this rock band more difficult than Everest. Another problem was frequent snowfall in late March which dumped fresh snow from BC to C1. |
