Route Notes BC at moraine on side of Kangshung Glacier ABC at moraine on side of Kangshung Glacier C1 at steep snow ridge of East Face. BC to ABC took 4 hours, even 3 days in deep snow. After C1 occupied, every morning clear skies but afternoon snow and by 16 Oct snow heavily accumulated. Members exchanged places in C1 and working on route above, but very slow progress: about 35m in one day, 100m linear in 1 day on 90 degree slope. 16 Oct to 20 Oct heavy snowfall with blizzard on 20 Oct with 1 tent at BC flying 100m. Reached 6400m maximum. Ryoo hit by snow avalanche at C1 and taken down 30m but not hurt. Many snow avalanches so very dangerous. Also very big avalanches off Lhotse. Also much falling rock on part of face of Koreans route. After storm, tried again but C1 completely gone; no tents, food, gear, etc; dug half day to find but no success by Lim Myung-Youl, Park Dae-Woon, Ryoo Bo-Hyun. Did not go above campsite. Now jet stream started, -20 degrees in BC in mornings. * Highest point reached was 6400m on East Face snow ridge: on 13 Oct by Lim, Park Dae-Woon and Lee Tae-Soon; on 14 Oct by Lim and Park Dae-Woon; on 28 Oct by Lim, Park Dae-Woon and Ryoo.
