Route Notes C1 at top of Icefall C2 in Western Cwm C3 on Lhotse Face High point at South Col (just below it). Inaki Ochoa was paid $800 of what was due him by National Geographic (paid into his Spanish bank) and paid by Howkins from her personal funds - parted company at Thyangboche in argument; he owes money to NG and maybe lawsuit. Highest point was 7900m leaving gear at Col on 12 May and down to BC. Now couldn't work summit bid without cameraman and Todd agreed for Lapkass and a Sherpa to be the man. Todd radioed from C2 don't come up because no oxygen available for Lapkass and a Sherpa to go up; very complicated ill-will between Todd and Sjogrens and others which got involved here. Planned to go up with Sjogrens, et al, on 26th but Howkins got bad flu on 22nd and stayed in BC (up only to clear loads 26th from C2). Model up on 20th to C2 but got flu also and down from there on 23 May. Howkins probably could have gone up 15-16 May and gone to top with Corfield but no filming could be arranged and commitment to National Geographic required filming so didn't try. On 26th also would have had no filming but was end of season and was tempted to go up for herself even without film record. Sjogrens - 4 June: part of Ochoa-Howkins problem was he brought along a girl friend and Model was Howkin's boy friend.
