First team left C6 at 3 am on 18th May and Kurahashi, Hashimoto, Sato, Nagata and Ang Mingma got to summit at 12:35 pm, Sakamoto at 12:57 pm. The four of were the second team to reach the summit that day. Before them a Sherpa (including Ang Mingma) from SSK, Japanese team. Then 2 Japanese from SSK, then 2 from Indian team, then some from European team with Sherpas. Kondo's team returned to C6 between between 4 and 5 pm. On 20 May started between 3:30 am and 4:30 am. Yano got to summit at 11:05 am with Gyaltsen Sherpa. Kawahara got to top at 12:45 pm. Nishigima got up to 8700m and abandoned because of lack of oxygen. They got back at 5:30-6:30 pm to C6. Don't know if there were others from North but there were from South. On 22nd May started 4:10 am Masaki returned after 50m. Didn't think she could get to summit, couldn't walk. Others summited at 10:40 am and returned to C6 at 3:10 pm. 2 westerners (a man and a woman) started an hour earlier without oxygen, met them between 1st and 2nd steps, and overtook. They were still climbing when the Japanese returned. Don't know if they summited. Also met a solo climber on way back without oxygen. Don't know if he summited. |
