| Route Notes | C1 at top of Icefall C2 in Western Cwm C3 on Lhotse West Face C4 at South Col High point at South Summit. Left C4 at 11:50 pm of 18th with Ang Babu and Dawa. Reached South Summit 8:30 am in beautiful weather but 2 other expeditions (Berg and Whittaker) who had said they would bring and fix ropes didn't do so, turned down saying it was too windy, so decided they also must turn back (wind not very strong actually). Seemed other climbers were satisfied to get down. 20th, 21st to BC. Would have needed 7 days rest at least before another bid and didn't enough time. Will come again next year, have more Sherpas and fix rope above C4 below balcony. Sherpas: Ang Babu (Babu Chiri - Everest X7) Dawa (his brother) |
