| Route Notes | BC road head C1 at North Col C2 on North Ridge C3 on North Face. Were supposed to be members of joint Pakistani-Chinese expedition but were entirely separate team above BC. Climbed separately, had their own Tibetan porters who carried to North Col, own food, own tents and all other gear. Pitched their own camps at same site as next to Pakistani camps (Pakistanis provided BC tents). Moved separately presumably because of communications problem since none of Tibetans spoke English. Left last camp for summit on 29th with no discussion with Pakistanis about their plan; left camp very easily in morning, well before Pakistanis. Tibetan's 2 high altitude porters carried loads to Col for Paks once and they and Tibetan members helped clear away Col camp. Tibetan members waited at BC for Paks to finish their climb. |
