| Route Notes | C1 at North Col C2 halfway between North Ridge and Great Couloir High point in Great Couloir. 9th May Karnicar from C2 to Great Couloir alone at 7900m and up C1 Couloir to 8200m; waited for Sherpas to join him there from C2 also, but weather got bad (fog, very cold, wind) and Sherpas didn't arrive with C3 gear but turned back before Couloir. Karnicar waited 3 hours, saw 2 fingers frozen and quickly descended to BC at 7:30 pm. Had hoped to go up again but fingers too badly frostbitten to do so. Point of expedition was his ski descent and its properly being documented film. |
| Accidents | 1 altitude sick Sherpa; Karnicar frostbitten finger on left hand (will lose all of little finger and half of next one) |
