| Route Notes | Left C5 too late (11:00 am) on 11 May and could get to only 8000m when 12:00 noon winds getting strong and turned back and slept again in C5. Intended reaching C6 at 8300m. Sherpas couldn't open oxygen bottles so members unable to use oxygen above C5. All 5 Sherpas reached 8300m and made C6 there 29 April but C6 was never slept in. 8000m reached 11th by all three members and Gyalzen Sherpa, Pemba Tshering, Pasang Tshering, Dawa and Pemba Geljen Sherpas. Oxygen: used 5 bottles of oxygen sleeping in C5, but unable to open 17 other bottles to go to C6 and top; other bottles different kind (both kinds Russian). |
