Route Notes C1 at North Col C2 on North Ridge C3 on North Face. "It is easy with oxygen" - could enjoy view from C3. It's a walk to 8300m and a rock climb above where necessary to be competent clinber. 1st summit team to North Col 15th May: Hinkes, Blessed, Dickinson and T. Hooft plus 4 Sherpas. 16 May up to C2 but Blessed turned back while still on snow slope because moving too slowly and other members down with him to North Col. 17th Hinkes and Dickinson went up to C2. 18th made C3 and 19th summit by Hinkes, Dickinson and 3 Sherpas, Lhakpa Gelu, Mingma Dorje and Phurba Gyalzen. 20th Dhillon and Lowe tried for top, reached 8400m when weather deteriorated and decided to retreat.
