Route Notes BC at road C3 at North Col C4 on North Face C5 on North Face (rock) After C3 pitched, weather in good, strong wind, many many snowing and many avalanches, same after C4 pitched. 1st summit bid was 23 Sept but not possible reach C5 site because strong winds, 3 more attempts defeated by winds. Finally 5th Oct C5 established and next day Park and Panuru Sherpa (Ngati's younger brother - no previous 8000m summits) to summit. Summit party left C5 4:45 am 6th Oct (Chinese time) and reached top 2:55 pm alone (no one from other expeditions) and down to C4 for Park and Panuru to C3 to sleep. No more summit attempts because had gone one week beyond schedule and all climbers very tired. All members except Lee Chang-Soo reached C4 or higher; Lee, journalist, only to C3. Summit party left C5 4:45 am 6th Oct (Chinese time) and reached top 2:55 pm alone (no one from other expeditions) and down to C4 for Park and Panuru to C3 to sleep.
