Route Notes C2 in Western Cwm C3 on Lhotse Face C4 at South Col (camp pitched on 20th April). On mountain Vladas stayed in Nepalese women's tents and ate their food but climbed alone and carried own oxygen bottles, sleeping bag and clothes. When he arrived at BC, C1 to C3 were already pitched. He went to C3 his 1st time on 18th April and 19th to C2. Went to C4 on 22nd at 5 pm and immediately down to C2 because no tent space for him at C4 and C3. 4th May arrived C3 next. 5th down to C2; no one going up from C4. 8th May left C2 with 2 oxygen bottles and went to top on 10th May; left Col 4:30 am, at South Summit 11:00 am, stayed 1 hour waiting for other ahead to climb and on top 12:30 pm, just before Lobsang of Australian team, returned to C4 at 5:30-6:00 pm and slept there; about same time Sherpas and 2 Russians brought Pasang Lhamu's body to C4; he helped carry her body from C2 to BC on 16 May.
