Route Notes BC at Rongbuk High BC C3 at East Rongbuk C4 at North Col. Took 2 weeks to get to N Col fixing ropes in strong winds (if no wind, reach in 4-5 days). Almost everyday and night, clear but windy. C4 established 28th Oct by 2 members, Ang Rita and Ang Nima with other 2 members carrying loads but not staying at col. 29th rested at C4. 30th was windy still but Brandolin and Ang Rita reached only 7100m and back to C4: to go higher "we fly to Kathmandu or we die." 31st wind and cold (-25 degrees) persisted so no attempt to go up; all 4 down to C3. 2 Nov all to BC for 1 week's rest and to buy supplies of food at Sheay. 10th Nov start up to high BC (C3) in 2 days: Bonin, Lima, 3 climbing Sherpas and 1 cook to C3; arrived C3 on only day of snowfall 11th Nov. Now colder and stronger wind. 16th Nov Bonin down to BC. 17th Brandolin tried solo attempt with a member along to film but wind stopped them at 6800m and returned to C3. 18th 2 members and Ang Nima down from C3. 20th 2 other Sherpas down (cook and Phurba) and finally Lima, Brandolin and Ang Rita down when yaks came; after 17th no one attempted to go above C3; many tents destroyed by wind. Left BC 26 Nov and arrived KTM 28 Nov.
Accidents 1 Sherpa very badly infected tooth (went only to ABC & then back to Kathmandu)
