| Route Notes | C1 at "corner camp" at bottom of West Ridge of Changtse. Trying to climb without sleeping bags, etc., but knee-deep to waist deep snow. After C1 established biked into East Rongbuk, skied to Lho La and climbed 3 peaks in area. Came down from biv at 7800m beause of prolonged snowfall. Weather good for couple of days, then big storm followed by high winds; brought down BC 27th Sept and left BC 30th. Only 4 members did any climbing on Everest (no climbing required to reach C1 which is on glacier) but other 2 members climbed one or more of the subsidiary peaks, Chenzheng, Guangoning and Lingtren, during acclimatization period. Reveley left early because he didn't like the look of Everest and as a doctor, he was helping Spaniards who had fatal avalanche. Super Couloir = Japanese and Hornbein Couloir |
| Accidents | Teare stomach trouble prevented his climbing on Everest |
