Route Notes C1 in Western Cwm C2 on Lhotse Face C3 on South Col. Progress good at first but then bad weather with heavy snowfall. Had planned 4-day rest but started up only on 2 Oct (1 Sherpa and 3 members - Enrique Luengo unable to see well) with Carlos and Elsa to go to top. In Cwm 2 nights, Lhotse Face camp 2 nights (bad weather and wind), 6th Carlos and Elsa arrived at col but strong wind and Elsa bleeding corneas, so she went down to C2 while Carlos up alone and met Japanese and then came big windslab avalanche which hit Carlos and Japanese and down to BC all together. Elsa and Luengo stayed in BC while on 11th Carlos and Alfredo up to Cwm camp, where Alfredo stayed with throat infection. 12th Carlos reached col, but camp had been destroyed by wind so slept in Japanese tent. 13th started 1:20 am 13th, earlier than Japanese, but Japanese caught up with Carlos and together to top. "All time windy but not extreme - just enough." Japanese on summit first, then Koreans, then Carlos, only 5 minutes apart. Japanese down very fast and Carlos, without oxygen, reached col camp 1-1/2 hours after them. 14th down to BC. Left BC 18th Oct. Parapented from Kalapattar and lower on way back from BC (not counted as parapente descent because below BC).
Accidents Luengo and Elsa bleeding from cold wind blowing into eyes
