Route Notes Samdrup, Wang Jia & letter from TMA - March 1993 Shi Ming-Ji, a cameraman from the China News Film Studio, in May 1978 suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died at only 5700m. Shi was with a Sino-Iranian reconnaissance party preparing for a joint expedition in the following year, a climb that never actually took place because of the overthrow of the Shah and the Iranian revolutionary leaders' rather different perspective on climbing Everest. Samdrup added that this reconnaissance was carried out by 40 Chinese and about 15 Iranians. Only one Iranian and about ten Chinese went as high as a campsite at 7500m. For Himalayan Database, allocate 3:1 (Hired:Members) ratio for Chinese 25 climbers (15 Iranians + 10 Chinese) 30 hired members (30 Chinese)
Accidents 1 film-man died of illness
