| Route Notes | Heli to Pangboche, Lobuche East BC 25/04 5350m C1 30/04 5900m C2 01/05 6440m C3 19/05 7100m C4 20/05 7900m Smt 22/05 by Harling, Goodwin, Funnell at 6:30 am, Mills at 8 am, Phurba Wangchhu (16 summits) at 6:30 am, Furinjee Sherpa at 8 am. On the first rotation, the team touched C3 on 03/05 and spent the night at C2. On the summit rotation, they spent an extra night at C4 due to dehydration. The Lhotse Face was very hot during their ascent as there was no wind. They left at 9:20 pm on 21/05. Straightforward climb. Balcony at 12:40 am. It was not too busy on the route. Weather was still and clear. They spent about 30 minutes on the summit and descended to C4 where they arrived at 11:.30 am and at 5 pm (Mills, Furinjee). On 23/05 they slept at C2 and on 24/05. Left BC on by heli on 27/05. Sherpas above BC: 3 (one was sick) Oxygen: Taken and used from bottom of the Lhotse face to top back to bottom of Lhotse face by members Taken and used from C3 to top to C3 by Sherpas. |
