Smt 15/05 by Jung Thapa with Sonam Tshiring 4:55 am, Kasahara with Sonam Tshering (Chumoa); Bakshir with Tshering Tundu Sherpa, Lhakpa Nuru; Khan with Pemba Tshering Sherpa, Shera Gyaljen Sherpa, Thilen Bhote at 9:35 am. Smt 15/05 by Tao, Jiakuan, Pemba Tshering Maila at 3:35 am; Chen Xiaoyi, Samden Bhote, Tshering Tashi at 5 am. 13/05 summit team left C4 at 7:30 pm. Straightforward climb. They all spent about 20 mins on the summit and descended to C2. 15/05 (international) left at 8:15 pm. Straightforward climb. Bakshir and Shaikh stayed at C4, Kasahara at C3, Sonam and Jung Thapa to C2. 15/05 (Chinese) left at 7:30 pm together with Wang Wu-Song. Wu-Song reached 8630m at 6:20 am. As she was going too slowly, she turned back and descended to C2. All summiteers back to C2 after the summit. Asmita Dorje and Dawa Tshering left South Col at 7 pm. Asmita Dorje was attempting without supplemental oxygen. At the South Summit, she lost her vision and turned back. During the descent, she regained her vision and continued to C2 on the same day. Sean Williams reached C3 during acclimatisation on 30/04. He left BC on 09/05 as his mother had a stroke and he had to return to the UK. Bakalwar reached BC. During the acclimatisation on Lobuche East, he got very ill with HAPE. He was flown to Lukla, recovered and trekked back to BC. He contracted HAPE again and flew out of BC. Paraglider flight: Carter did not feel well and spent five days at C2 before the summit push. He was initially in the first summit group, but decided to stay at C2 to wait for the second summit group. On 13/05 he ascended to C3 and 14/05 to C4. As his main goal was to fly off the South Col (he only had permission to fly from C4 and not the summit) and the weather was volatile, he decided not to go for the summit, but fly instead. On 15/05, he started attempting to fly at 7 am, but it was too cloudy. He tried again at 10 am, but the wind was too strong and he finally took off at about noon as the wind had dropped and there were gaps in the cloud. He had to run to take off and he was in the air for about 20 min. He flew along the SW Face of Everest over the Western Cwm and down the valley to Gorak Shep where he landed. The wind was very strong (about 30km/h); he landed on a little hill just below Kalapattar. Dawa Steven had sent a Sherpa with Carter’s running shoes so he could use them to walk back to BC. Carter was with Tseden Lama. Team left BC on 17/05 by heli and trekking. Sherpas above BC: 18 Oxygen: Taken and used from C2 (during the night due to sickness) to C4 to Gorak Shep by Carter Taken and used from C2 to top to C2 by Khan, Chen Xiao-Yi Taken and used from bottom of Lhotse face to top to C3 by Bakshi Taken and used from C3 to top to C3 by rest of members and Sherpas Taken and used from the South Summit to C2 by Asmita Dorje.
