| Route Notes | BC 27/04 5350m C1 03/05 6100m C2 04/05 6440m C3 10/05 7200m C4 11/05 7800m Smt 2/05 by Philipe Harles, Dendi Sherpa and Lal Bahadur Tamang at 7:14 am. On summit day summit team left C4 at 8 pm on 11/05. Weather was perfect. It was not too cold and no wind whatsoever. They spent about 30 minutes on the summit. They descended to C4 where they had a rest and continued to C3 where they arrived at 8 pm. They intended to go down to C2 on the day, but a storm prevented them from continuing farther. On 13/05 the storm abated and they descended to BC. Neuschmid reached BC, but contracted COVID-19 and was evacuated to Kathmandu on 30/04. He spent two days in hospital and then quarantined in a hotel in Kathmandu. It took him a long time to recover, but he was getting better on 16/05. Harles left BC on 15/05 by heli. Oxygen: taken and used from C3 to top to C3 by Harles and Sherpas. |
