| Route Notes | The night of the 23rd was relatively mild at start (8:40 pm), but the wind picked up significantly during the triangular face and balcony. At summit level, we estimated the wind was a stead 35-40 kph, and windchill -40c. Other than the wind, fair weather conditions persisted and there were few clouds in the sky. Hershman, Jyamchang Bhote and Pasang Bhote summmited at 6:32 am, while Purice, Rinjin Bhote and Panche Rai summited at 7:40 am. Both groups stayed on top 10-12 minutes, then descended to C4, around 11:40 am for Hershman and 1 pm for Purice. Team attempted the night of 22nd, but turned around at the beggining of the triagular face due to strong winds at low altitude, a late start, and many other climbers slowing the route. Oxygen: Used from C3 to summit to 8000m. |
