| Route Notes | Oxygen: Members and Sherpas started from C2, stopped on descent from C3 Report from Zhang Hong team (Tao Chen): BC(11/04,5400m),C1(27/04,5900m),C2(28/04,6400m),C3(22/05,7200m), C4(23/05,7900m),Smt(24/05) Summit on 24/05 at 9 am Zhang Hong, Samden Bhote, Dawa Wongchu and Lakpa Sherpa. Summit team left C4 at 7 pm on 23/05, waited at 8500m for 20 mins due to strong winds (speed: 50km/h), then went ahead towards the summit (except for Wang Zen who started his descent due to the wind). Chen Tao and Ding Liang reached 8700m, gave 2 bottles of oxygen to Zhang Hong, then descended and arrived at C4 at 8 am and waited for Zhang Hong and his Sherpas to return. Also Chen's oxygen regulator leaked. Oxygen: From C2 to high point to C2. Hired: Samden Bhote Dawa Wongchu Lakpa Sherpa Pemba [Tshering] Sherpa who fell into a crevasse and broke his ribs. Report from Mateo Isaza: BC(10/04,5250m),C1(28/04,6000m),C2(29/04,6500m),C3(10,22/05,7000m),xxx Isaza again reached C3, but was turned back by bad weather. Oxygen: Not used Report from Arjun Vajpai: BC(19/04,5350m),C1(28/04,6100m),C2(29/04,6440m),xxx Vajpai injured his back (while sleeping) at BC, but still went up to C2. However, the pain got worse and after five days at C2 he was in so much pain that he was picked up by helicopter and was flown to Kathmandu. Oxygen: Not used |
