Route Notes From Kilian Jornet - 6 Oct 2019 I was climbing at the big couloir left side of Geneva Spur, but too much snow so I decided to get to the southeast spur (I saw after it was where the Polish route from the 80's was) so I climbed some rock spurs and couloirs there to 8100m, where snow was to deep and then traverse flat contouring right towards normal route to see if it was less snow and avalanche risk, I got to normal route at 8200m, went up about 100m on the slope to the Balcony, but too wind affected so I turned down normal route to South Col, there it wasn’t to late so I went up to 8000m into the Geneva Spur to look the crossing to Lhotse under the pinnacles and the huge avalanche in Lhotse Face, and then dark I went down to South Col and down the couloir left of Geneva Spur to C2. I attached a picture of the track so you understand better, it wasn’t anything really interesting, but mostly a try to do some recce with bad conditions. Bad weather all September, serac above icefall [so expedition abandoned].
