He collapsed on his summit push on 22/05 at 9 am. He was with Kalden Sherpa. Nga Tashi was his second Sherpa, but he was already on his way to C3 to set up camp. Kalden dragged Lee back to the tent at 7600m as Lee was unconscious. Kalden kept him warm in the sleeping bag and gave him a lot of oxygen until he gained consciousness again at about 12 noon on 22/05. Meanwhile Nga Tashi and Dawa Sherpa joined Kalden at C2. At about 1 pm they started the rescue. Lee was still unable to walk, he was totally disorientated. The carried him down from 7600m to 7500m which took them 2 hours. The Chinese rope fixing team came down from the summit and five of them offered their assistance. Eight people were involved in the rescue now. They reached C1 at about 8 pm.
