Summit team left C2 at 2:45 am. They were behind the rope-fixing team and left late so they did not get in the way of the rope-fixing team. They were the only team with the rope fixers on that day. They took about 3 hours to reach C3. Conditions were rocky and dry. They had a cup of tea at C3, changed oxygen bottles and continued at about 6:15 am. The rope-fixing team summited around half an hour to 45 minutes ahead of them and they met them on their way down on the summit snow slopes. They spent about half an hour on the summit and descended to C2, where they arrived at 5 pm. On 23/05 they left C2 at 6:15 am and descended to ABC, where they arrived at 11 am. They packed up, ate, packed the yak and left for Chinese BC at 12:30 pm. They reached CBC at 7 pm, packed all their gear and left in a jeep for Shigatse at 9:30 pm. They reached Shigatse at 5:30 am on 24/05 and took a plane to Chengdu. Vogel landed in the USA exactly one hour short of 14 days since she left the USA for the expedition.
