Route Notes BC 16/04 5350m C1 27/04 5900m C2 05/05 6440m C3 18/05 7000m C4 19/05 7900m Smt 20/05 by Moniz, Willie Benegas, Pasang Bhote, Chheden Lama Bhote at 5:05 am. Team left C4 at 9:30 pm. They were intending to leave at 11:30 pm, but the iPhone had picked up Chinese time so they got the time wrong. They reached the South Summit at 2:30 am. Benegas found a cave where they could wait for about one hour. Damian Benegas and Enrique Clausen stayed at the South Col while Moniz and Benegas with the Sherpas summited Everest. Damian spent a few hours collecting rubbish. Clausen carried some gear down to Lhotse C4. Summit team spent about 10 minutes on the summit. They descended to C4, where they arrived at 9 am. On 21/05, Benegas brothers, Moniz, Clausen, Dawa Gyalzen and Lobsang left Everest C4 at 5:45 am. They went to the old Lhotse C4 at about 7700m. Damian Benegas cut the rope the Czech climber who died in 2012 was attached to. The body did not move, but it will probably disappear over the next months. Lhotse Smt 21/05 by Moniz, Willie and Damian Benegas, Clausen, Dawa Gyalzen Sherpa and Lobsang Sherpa at 11 am. They spend about half an hour on the summit. They descended to C4, picked up the gear and reached C2 at 3:45 pm. Willie Benegas flew back to C2 on 22/05 (after flying back to Namche with Damai Sarki's body on 21/05), and the whole team descended to BC (cleaned their camps). Team left BC on 24/05 by heli. Oxygen: Taken and used from C3 to top to C3 by members and Sherpas. Damai Sarki's crevasse fall on 21/05: According to Willie Benegas, Damai Sarki was directing the helicopter who had landed in line with a crevasse right next to it. When he stepped back he fell into the crevasse, which was about body-width. It was about 5 pm. This differs from Santalena's account who said that Damai Sarki was on his knees and blown into the crevasse by the force of the wind of the helicopter. Nobody really noticed that he was gone. The Sherpas tried to fish him out with a rope, but that did not work. Damian and Willie set up the anchor, Willie descended into the crevasse and brought him up. The helicopter was already waiting (Maurizio Folini) and Willie flew out of C2 with Damai Sarki directly to Namche. They went to hospital, but he could not be saved, Willie thinks he stopped breathing at about 10:45 pm.
