| Route Notes | The Pioneer Adventure Everest expedition was a combination of several independent teams (1-2 climbers each). Pioneer Adventure provided transportation, base camp facilities and various levels of high altitude support (oxygen, high-altitude porters, tents, etc) as required and contracted for by each team. The individual accounts for each team are given below: Szczepan Brzeski (Poland) Camps: BC(18/04,5350m),C1(11/05,6100m),C2(13/05,6400m),C3(15/05,7200m), C4(16/05,7900m),Smt(20/05) Left: 21/05/2018 by heli Hired: 1 Term: Success (9 am) Brzeski and Dorje left C4 at 8 pm on 16 May and reached summit at 9 am on 17 May. They stayed on summit for 50 minutes, then descended to C4 at 4 pm, continued to C3 where they arrived at 3 am of 18 May. Then to BC. The summit day weather was very good. Oxygen: Brzeski from C3-summit-C3, Sherpa from C4-summit-C4 Bhagwan Chawale (India) Prajit Rasiklal Pardeshi (India) Camps: BC(17/04,5350m),C1(5900m),C2(6400m),C3(15/05,7000m),C4(16/05,7900m), Smt(17/05) Left: 20/05/2018 by heli Hired: 2 Term: Success (6:40 am) Summit team of Chawale, Pardeshi, Dorchi [and Pasang Dawa] left C4 at 7:30 pm. Straightforward climb. They summited at 6:40 am, stayed 30 minutes on the summit and descended to C4 where they arrived at 1:30 pm. They stayed the night at C4. On 18/05 they descended to C2, arrived there at 12:30 pm, had lunch and continued to BC, where they arrived at 7:30 pm. Oxygen: Taken and used from C3 to top to C3. Samantha McMahon (Australia) Camps: BC(20/04,5350m),C1(5900m),C2(27/04,6400m),C3(13/05,7200m), Lhotse.C4(14/05,7700m),C4(15/05,7900m),Smt(16/05) Left: 18/05/2018 by heli Hired: 1 Term: Success (10 am) McMahon and Gesman left C4 at 8:30 pm on 15/05. It was very slow moving due to too many people on the route. McMahon felt her feet getting cold, but she did not worry about it too much. They spent about 15 minutes on the summit and descended to C4, where they arrived at about 4 pm. When she took her boots off in the tent she found out that she had frostbite on her left foot. She took Ibuprofen and kept the foot warm. On 17/05 they descended to C2. She was still on O2 and slept on O2. On 18/05 she was picked up by helicopter and flown back to Kathmandu. Oxygen: Taken and used from C3 to top to C2 by McMahon From C4 to summit to C4 by Gesman Tamang. Tanya Rollier (Switzerland) Camps: BC(14/04,5350m),C1(23/04,5900m),C2(24/04,6440m),C3(15/05,7000m), C4(16/05,7900m),Smt(18/05) Left: 18/05/2018 by heli Hired: 1 Term: Success (7:45 am) When Rollier and Pemba started their summit push from C3 on 16/05, they left C3 only at 9am, which was too late. When she reached C4 at 6 pm on 16/05 she felt too tired to continue, so she stayed one extra night at C4. Team left C4 at 8:30 pm on 17/05. It was very windy. Straightforward climb. They spent about 10 minutes on the summit and descended to C3, where they arrived at 7 pm. On 19/05 back to C2, on 20/05 to BC. Oxygen: Taken and used from about 7000m to top to 7000m by Rollier, but slept in C3 without O2. From C3 to top to C3 by Pemba. Sangeeta Sindhi Bahl (India) Camps: BC(13/04,5350m),C1(20/04,6100m),C2(22/04,6400m),C3(16/05,7200m), Lhotse.C4(17/05,7800m),C4(18/05,7900m),Smt(19/05) Left: 23/05/2018 Hired: 2 Term: Success (7:45 am) Sindhi, Lakpa Nurbu and Nga Tenji started their summit push from Lhotse C4 at 1 pm on 18 May, they reached C4 at 4 pm. From C4 they started at 6:50 pm and got to the top at 7:10 am on 19 May (tenp -30?) and stayed on top for 15 minutes, then descended to C4 at 1 pm and spent the night there. Next day on 20 May went down to C2 where they arrived at 7 pm. They rested at C3 for 2 to 3 hours. Following day, 21 May arrived to BC. Summit day weather, wind started picking up 70km/ph from South Summit all the way up. There were 7 to 8 climbers ahead of Sindhi team and behind them at least 10-12 climbers. Oxygen: Sindhi from C2 crampon point to summit to C3, Sherpas from C3 to summit to C3. Sindhi and Sherpas used for sleeping also.
