Route Notes Bc 20/04 5350m C1 23/04 5900m C2 24/04 6500m C3 13/05 7000m C4 14/05 7900m Smt 16/05 by Fogle, Cool, Fisher, Kami Dorje (Makalu) at 7:30 am. Summit team left C4 9:45 pm. Weather calm and clear. Lots of people on the route. They were stuck behind big Chinese teams on the way to the Balcony. At 8500m they experienced problems with their regulators. Three of them blew up. Fogle's failed at 8500m, Fisher's failed at 8600m and Fogle's spare failed at the Hillary Step again. Cool gave him his regulator and ascended without O2. He said he could definitely feel the effect of altitude as he was a lot slower. They spent about an hour on the summit. On the way down, Cool picked up a regulator from Guy Cotter and a mask from Tindu Sherpa. They stopped at C4, where they arrived at around noon. Continued to C2 at 2:30 pm and arrived there at 6:30 pm. Pendleton reached the bottom of the Lhotse Face at about 6700m on 24/04. Her oxygen saturation was very low, and was down to 28 at C2 in the middle of the night. They put her on oxygen immediately and the saturation was immediately up to 92. She descended to BC on oxygen. She left the expedition at the end of April. Left BC on 18/05 by heli. Oxygen: Taken and used from C3 to top to C3 by members (Cool part way only) From C4 to top to C4 by Sherpas. Sherpa: Kami Dorje Sherpa, Yaphu-9, Makalu Barun, 21/08/1994
