Route Notes Report from Raman Hachoodan: BC 12/04 5300m C1 25/04 6100m C2 26/04 6400m C3 18/05 7200m C4 19/05 7900m Smt 20/05 by Hachoodan and Gelje Sherpa at 8:45 am Smt 25/05 by Van der Merwe and Tenjen Sherpa at 4:30 am. Hachoodan and Gelje Sherpa started their summit push from C4 at 9 pm of 19 May. They reached summit at 8:45 am of 20 May; it was windy and cold so they did not stay on summit just touched and descended to C4 where they arrived between 2 pm to 3 pm. They have video clip of summit. The photograph was taken below 50 to 60m of summit. Next day on 21 May the team went down to C2. Hachoodan was heli-lifted from C2 to Lukla on 22 May. On descent Gelje's one eye was snowblind. Ahead of this team there were four climbers descending from summit they cross above South Summit. Hachoodan summited Lobuche on 25 April with Gelje. Van der Merwe and Tenjen Sherpa at 4:30 am on 25 May. Oxygen: Hochoodan used C3-summit-C3; Gelje Sherpa C4-summit-C4. Oxygen: C3-summit-C3, Sherpa same. Record: 4th South African woman to summit Everest Merwe and Phurba [Tenjen?] left C4 on 24 May at 19.00 hrs. They reached summit at 4:30 am of 25 May. They stayed on summit approximately 40 minutes. They got back to C4 around 9 am, rested there for about 2 hours to boil water and pack up then moved down to sleep at C2. On 26 May went down to BC. Left BC on 28 May. Merwe wrote in her email “Managed to summit Mt Everest on 25 May 2017, 4:30 the morning and in time for the most spectacular sunrise in all of God's creation”. “It was truly something special and blessed to have had a clear windless day with views over Lhotse, Makalu and far into Nepal and Tibet”. “This was such a privilege for her to let me admire the view from the top”
