| Route Notes | BC 21/04 5300m C1 01/05 6100m approx C2 02/05 6500m approx C3 19/05 6900m C4 20/05 7900m Smt 21/05 by Gurung and Fursang Sherpa at 3 pm. Gurung and Fursang left C4 at 11 pm on 20 May for the summit in windy weather condition which later receded. They reached summit at 3 pm on 21 May. They stayed on summit for about 30 minutes and descended C4 at 8 pm. Next day on 22 May spent night at C2. On 23 May they went down to BC. Left BC 24 May by helicopter. Ahead of Gurung team the Pakistani climber and his Sherpa were on the summit. Climber from Peruvian Victor Rimac (Seven Summit Treks) without supplementary oxygen and without Sherpa support was on summit almost at the same time of Gurung. Oxygen: Gurung used C3-summit-C3; Sherpa from C4-summit-C4. Record: Second female from Gurung community to summit Everest. She shared permit with Sushil Sherma who was with Arun Treks. The expedition was sponsored by Gurung Tourism Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal. |
