Route Notes Jaroslaw planned to attempt Everest alone with oxygen first, then descend back to Base Camp, meeting Rafal Fronia and Piotr Tomala and trying Lhotse with them without oxygen. BC 08/04 5300m C1 C2 21/04 6400m C3 C4 06/05 7950m HPt 19/05 7950m by Gawrysiak Gawrysiak wanted to start his summit bid on 19 May. He started packing, but at 9 pm he decided not to go due to bad weather. It was too windy (70 km/h). At 11:30 pm he started his descent from C4. At 12:30 am he found a Korean climber in bad condition a few meters below Lhotse C4. He was without oxygen, had no gloves and started undressing. He couldn't talk. Gawrysiak gave him some of his oxygen. At 6 am on 20 May Gawrysiak reached C3 where he saw a helicopter trying to rescue the Korean climber. In C3 he met his Polish friends Tomala and Fronia, who had just been on Lhotse, and they descended together to C2. On 21 May down to BC. Left BC on 23 May, trekking to Lukla. Oxygen: taken and used by Gawrysiak on the ascent from Yellow Band (~7600m) to C4.
