Route Notes BC 19/04 5400m C1 C2 17/05 6400m C3 18/05 7200m C4 19/05 7950m Smt 21/05 by Noroozi at 5:30 am, Lakpa at 6 am. Noroozi started at C4 on 20 May at 8 pm. The weather was good, it was cold but not windy (10 km/h). One hour before Hillary Step, Noroozi ran out of oxygen. Immediately he felt cold and dizzy, but decided to continue slowly. He decided to go as far as Hillary Step and then turn around. When he reached Hillary Step he could see the summit and decided to try to reach the summit. He reached the summit alone and stayed on the top for 20 minutes. Phurba Sherpa didn't summit, he got frostbite at his toes and turned around approximately three hours after they left C4. Lakpa Sherpa summited shortly after Noroozi. Noroozi got back to C4 at 11:30 am. He stayed in C4 for 2 hours, then descended alone to C2, reaching it at 9 pm. He reached BC next day at 1:30 pm. Noroozi left BC by helicopter to Lukla on 23 May. Oxygen: Used by Noroozi from a little bit above C3 to ~8700m, on descent from ~8800m to C4. By Lakpa from C4 to summit and back to C4.
