Route Notes BC 18/04 5400m C1 25/04 6100m C2 26/04 6500m C3 29/04 7100m C4 20/05 7950m Smt 22/05 by Wang, Gao, Shi and 6 Sherpas at 3:00 am. Smt 22/05 by Obata and Ongje Sherpa at 4:00 am. Smt 22/05 by Han and Mingma Chhiri Sherpa at 4:12 am. Obata summit team, Yamaura and Jenjen Sherpa Bhote left C4 at 7 pm on 21 May. Weather was calm. Masaki reached the South Summit, but had run out of oxygen. His Sherpa gave him his oxygen and they descended to C4. Summit team carried on and reached the summit at 4 am. They stayed for about 30 minutes on the summit. They descended to C4, where they arrived at 8 am. On 23 May to C2 and 24 May to BC. Left BC on 26 May by helicopter. Han summit team left C4 at 7:30 pm on 21 May. Weather was calm, not cold. Straightforward climb. They spent about 20 minutes on the summit, and descended to C4, where they arrived at 10 am. They stayed there for two nights and moved to Lhotse C4 on 24 May. Han then summited Lhotse on 25 May with Jit Bahadur. On 26 May Han back to BC and left BC 28 May by helicopter. Niebuhr and Singe [Kami Singee Tamang] left C4 at 7 pm on 21 May. Weather was calm. When Niebuhr reached the Balcony he got a pain in his left shoulder, which is probably due to the fact that he can only use one arm. The other one has been paralyzed since he was 8 years old (it happened after a brain surgery). He was thinking of whether to continue or not, but then he saw a dead body on the Balcony and was convinced that he should go down. He thought that he could make it to the top, but probably not back down again. They descended to C4, slept for a few hours and then continued to C2, where they arrived at about noon. On 22 May, back to BC and left BC 26 May by helicopter. Hudson was on his way to C4, when at about 7700m he felt absolutely exhausted. He had no power left. He spoke to his Sherpa, Abirail Rai, who told him that it was still be four hours to get to the summit. Hudson was feeling so tired and so slow that he decided to turn back to C3, where they arrived at 6 pm. They stayed there for the night. On 21 May, he descended to C2 the following day and developed a strange cough, coughing up bits of gunk. On 22 May, he went to BC. He wanted to wait for Nicolaj also of Sherpa Kangri, but was feeling so unwell (he was put on oxygen) that he was evacuated by helicopter on 24 May to Grande Hospital. He was there 2 nights. Oxygen: Taken and used from C3 to high points to C2 by Obata team and Sherpas (apart from Jenjen) Taken and used from C3 to summit and down to C4, then to Lhotse C4 to Lhotse top and to C2 by Han From C3 to summit to C4 by Mingma Chhiri; from C4 to top to C4 by Jit Bahadur From C3 to top to C3 by Niebuhr and Singe Sherpa. From C3 to 7700m to C3, again at BC (medically) by Hudson. Sherpas: Jit Bahadur (Thile), Khare-5, Dolakha, 30/07/1978 Mingma Chhiri, Beding, 19/01/1992 Ongje (Wangche), Gaurishankar-2, 22/08/1983 Jenjen Sherpa Bhote
