Route Notes BC 13/04 5350m C1 21/04 6100m C2 22/04 6550m C3 19/05 7100m C4 20/05 7900m Smt 21/05 by Schellens, Stenderup, Christofferson, Siddhi Tamang between 9:30 and 10:45 am. Smt 23/05 by Zagaytova, Gallant, Settemsdal, Klein, Malony, McLeland, Madison, Nugent, Bliss plus 12 Sherpas at between 5:45 am and 7 am. 21 May summit team, Brent Bishop and Tashi Sherpa left C4 at midnight. Bishop and Tashi encountered the Slovak climber Vladimir Strba, who was ataxic. They found him at about 3:30 am, roped him up and carried and dragged him down to C4. It took them about 5 hours. They put him into a tent and gave him an oxygen bottle and put it on 4 litres a minute. They also gave him dex. Rob Smith from Adventure Consultants then took over as Bishop and Tashi were exhausted and needed to rest. Strba died in the afternoon on 21 May. He was brought down to the bottom of the Lhotse Face and picked up by helicopter. Rest of the team carried on to the summit. They spent about half an hour and descended to C4, where they spent the night. Bishop and Tashi down to C2 on 21 May. On 22 May to C2, and 23 May to BC. 23 May summit team left C4 on 9:30 pm. It was very windy (70km/h). The real wind started after sunrise when they reached the South Summit. The spent about half an hour on the summit and started to descend. They stayed at C4, where they arrived 10 am. On 24 May down to C2 and on 25 May everyone down to BC. Audrey Cadwallader reached C2 on 22 April. She did not feel well and left expedition. George Gosbee reached BC. He got HAPE and left expedition. Sindhi reached C2 on 22 April. She did not feel well and left expedition. Lhotse Summit: On 23 May by Schellens, Stenderup, Siddhi Tamang at 10 am On 24 May by Sidney Pattison, Ingvild Settemsdal, Lhakpa Dendi Sherpa at 12 noon 23 May Lhotse summit team had come down from Everest on 21 May to C4. They rested the whole of 22 May and on morning of 23 May they left Everest C4 at about 5 am. Straightforward climb, but it was very windy. They spent about 15 minutes on summit and descended to C2, where they arrived at about 4 pm. 24 May Lhotse summit team: Pattison had spent 3 nights at C4 as he had climbed up with the Everest summit group. After summiting Everest Settemsdal spent a night a C4 on Everest. On 24 May, they left C4 at 7 am. Spent about 15 minutes on the summit and descended to C2, where they arrived at about 5:30 pm. Everyone down at BC on 25 May. Left BC 26 May (heli).
