Route Notes BC 10/04 5350m C1 ----- 6100m C2 15/04 6500m C3 09/05 7300m C4 09/05 7900m second summit push 25 May Smt 26/05 by Hasler, Jeffrey Smith, Burke, Gomi, Sonam Tashi, Phurba Gyalzen, Son Dorje and Gyalzen Dorje between 8:10 and 8:22 am. Left C4 at 1 am. Straightforward climb. Clear and calm weather. Burke, Gomi, Sonam Tashi, Phurba Gyalzen and Son Dorje down to C2, where they arrived at around 5 pm. Hasler and Smith stayed at C4 as Smith's knees were painful. They descended to C2 on 27 May and everyone down at BC on 28 May. Team left BC 29 May by helicopter. Tait reached C3 with Kenton Cool and his client Rob Owens on 9 May. They were hoping to use the summit window of 10 May and follow the rope-fixing team. However, it was too cold and too windy and the ropes were not fixed. They descended on 10 May and left the expedition on 12 May. Hunter reached C2 on 15 April. He had a mini-stroke at BC and took the same helicopter flight as David Tait and Kenton Cool on 12 May. Tamura reached C2. He was fatigued on this expedition and did not seem to acclimatize well and left expedition early. Wang and Zhang got to C2. Lack of motivation. Left with David Tait.
