| Route Notes | BC 19/04 5400m C1 30/04 6100m C2 01/05 6500m C3 19/05 7200m C4 20/05 7950m Smt 21/05 by Chang Jiang and Champa Sherpa at 5:30 am, Lu Jian and Nima Sherpa at 6 am, Xu Fei-Yue and Walung [Dorchi] Sherpa at 6:30 am, Yu Jian-Hong, Pastemba Sherpa and Pasang Sherpa, at 5 am. Summit team, An Shao-Hua, Liu Zheng left C4 between 7 pm and 9 pm on 20 May. It was a bit windy, around 40 km/h. At 8100m An Shao-Hua decided to turn back as he did not feel safe. He returned to C4. Liu Zheng reached 8700m, but had to turn back as he was going blind. He was with Dawa Sherpa and they turned back at about 5 am. They got to C4 at 11 am, rested and continued to C2 that day. His eyes recovered at C4. Summit team carried on with no problems, spent about 10 minutes on the sumit (it was windy) and then descended to C2. Zhu Gang reached C4 20 May; he was too tired to go for the summit and descended to C2. Gao Yang reached C4 on 20 May; she was too slow to carry on and descended to C2. Qiu Xiao-Bin reached BC on 19 April and was rescued by helicopter 22 April due to pulmonary oedema. Xu-Hong Zhou never arrived in Nepal. He was stopped at Chinese customs. Will come in 2018. Wei got to 6800m on 8 May in the hope that the rope fixers would go up, but when they decided that they would not, he returned to BC where he stayed as the expedition leader. 22 May everyone back at BC. Team left BC on 23 May by helicopter. Oxygen: Taken and used from C3 to top or high point to C2 by members From C4 to top or high point to C4 by Sherpas. |
