Route Notes First attempt on 27 September had to retreat from 7850m due to waist-deep snow. Kuriki went down to BC same day. Kuriki's second summit push started from BC on 2 October to C2. On 3 October he got to C3 where he stayed for two nights (4 and 5 October) due to high winds. On 6 October he reached C4. On 7 October Kuriki left C4 at 7 pm, arrived at 8150m at 3:30 am of 8 October, then decided to call off the climb due to high winds and bad snow conditions (ice surface covered with fresh soft snow). Kuriki returned C4 at around 5 pm and same day went down to BC where he arrived at 11 pm. Kuriki said there were very few avalanches compared to other years on the mountain. The camera crew members did not go up beyond BC. Next year he is planning to attempt from the north side. Fixed rope: Icefall doctors fixed the line in Khumbu Icefall. Kuriki did not use any rope above Icefall.
