Route Notes BC 09/04 5350m HPt 09/04 5350m by all members of expedition. Team was at BC when the avalanche occurred. They got dusted and Lhakpa Nuru cut his hand and dislocated his shoulder. On the day of the avalanche the entire team went down to Gorak Shep and spent 2 nights there. They went back up to BC, packed their bags, left BC and trekked to Deboche and Namche Bazar. They were still unsure whether they would go back to BC. The final decision on abandoning the climb was made at 1 May in Namche Bazar. Sherpa: Lhakpa Nuru, 30 November 1987, Gudel-5, Solukhumbu Note: Ms. Chhurim Dolma Sherpa (Philips Hughes Yatra Sagarmatha Expedition 2015) joined up with this team. She was intending to take the bat and jersey of the late Australian cricketer, Phillip Hughes, to the summit of Everest.
