Route Notes Roorkee Everest Spring 2014 The members did not go through the Icefall; however, their six Sherpas wnet through the icefall on 18 April and had crossed the accident site 20 minutes before the fatal avalanche happened. "It was not us who decided to abandon the climb. We were not allowed to go beyond base camp afer 18th. We were threatened with dire consequences. Of course, we all were shaken, but Everest had taken many lives before and we would have continued with our climb if the situations had been normal and if we all had taken the loss on our stride."
