| Route Notes | The team took two short trips into the Icefall for practice. On the 15th they went only to the "popcorn field" at about 5600m, and on the 18th they went again into the Icefall intending to reach the "football field" a bit farther up, but at 6:30 am they turned around for personal reasons. As they were descending to BC, they saw the avalanche fall at 6:45 am and hurried to BC, where they arrived safely at 7:40 am. They never moved up from BC again. The climb was cancelled on 23 April. Members left BC on the 24th and visited Khumjung on their way out to Lukla. The leader, Guzman, left BC on the 28th to take a plane from Lukla. |
