Route Notes On 21 April four loads of the team's gear were carried to C1. These loads were soon shuttled up to C2, where they are now stored for use next year. On 18th April, a number of various teams load-carrying Sherpas had to stop in the Icefall and bunched up waiting for ladders to be put together in the area known as the football field. One of this team's Sherpas was killed by the avalanche that struck at 6:45 am. He was Pasang Karma. The decision to abandon the climb was made on 23 April following the decision by many Sherpas not to continue the climb. Groves heard that few Sherpas from Rolwaling and Makalu areas instigated the walk-out. One member was evacuated by helicopter: Philip Pearson apparently suffered a "mini-stroke" on 14 April. He was at BC and suddenly fell over, unconscious. Groves escorted him to a Kathmandu hospital and returned to BC the next day by helicopter. Deceased Sherpa: Pasang Karma, 16/7/75, from Bupsa, Jubing-5, Solu Everest X1 with David Hamilton in May 2013
