Route Notes BC 05 Apr 5350m C1 14 Apr 6000m C2 16 Apr 6400m C3 04 May 7300m C4 15 May 7900m Smt 17 May by Whittington and Dawa Nuru at 7:10 am, Pendleton and Tashi at 7:30 am. Summit team and Daniel Branham left the South Col at 7 pm on 16 May. They had already spent one night there. It was very windy. IMG had started at 11 pm and turned all their clients around due to high winds. The other teams were the Pune Indian team and Corina O'Lany from Brazil. At about 8400m, Branham realized that he was climbing too slowly for Wally Berg's time goal and decided to turn back. He was back at the South Col at 12:30 am on 17 May. The rest of the team carried on climbing. The winds were very high and Pendleton had very cold toes on his right foot, but he did not get any frostbite. They stayed about 45 minutes on the top and descended to C4, where they arrived at 1 pm. By that time Branham had descended to C2. On 18 May, Pendleton descended to BC and Whittington descended to C2. Wally Berg was the expedition leader, but never intended to climb.
