Route Notes BC 13 Apr 5350m C1 22 Apr 6000m C2 24 Apr 6400m C3 05 May 7300m C4 20 May 7900m Smt 22 May by Pasang Gomba, Da Onchu, Da Nuru, Phurba Sarki and Vora at 7:30 am. Summit team arrived at South Col on 20 May at about 2 pm. They had planned to summit on 21 May, but due to some problems with the oxygen masks as well as bad weather, they decided to go for 22 May. On 21 May they left C4 at 9:30 pm after the wind had died. Straightforward climb. They summited at 7:30 am and spent about 45 minutes on the summit. They descended to C4, where they arrived at 12:30 pm. On 23 May they descended to C2 and on 23 April to BC. Vora noticed that he had frostbite on his left foot at C4, but did not say anything to Woolums. Woolums only found out when Vora was at C2. Osoro, Reiter and Seiwald reached 5600m on 19 April to about the football field. Reiter was not feeling well and the other two felt scared, so they turned back. They flew back to Kathmandu by helicopter from Lobuche on 21 May. Seiwald came back to BC on 28 April and reached C2 on 1 May. She was still scared of the climb and when a Seven Summit Treks Sherpa fell down the Lhotse Face, she abandoned the expedition. She spent 6 days at C2 and then went down to BC and left expedition. Woolums reached the base of the bergschrund at 6600m on 24 April and on 1 May. Once it was clear that only Vora was going to the summit, he made a personal decision not to accompany him as Vora was just too slow and Woolums did not deem it safe for him to climb. However as he wanted to give him a chance, he sent him up with the Sherpas and coordinated from BC.
