Route Notes The Asian Trekking International Everest expedition was a combination of several independent teams (1 climber each). Asian Trekking provided transportation, base camp facilities and various levels of high altitude support (oxygen, high-altitude porters, tents, etc) as required and contracted for by each team. The individual accounts for each team are given below: Dawes Eddy (USA) Name: None Camps: BC(15/04,5100m),ABC(19/04,6400m),C1(04/05,7000m),xxx(17/05,7200m) Left: 21/05/2013 Hired: 1 Term: Abandoned at 7200m due to sinus infection Due to sinus infection, Dawes had to give up his summit attempt and return to ABC the same day. Oxgyen Use: Taken and used from C1 to high point to C1 Sherpa: Phurba Namgyal, Beding, Dolakha, 7/2/86 John Tsang (Hong Kong) Name: None Camps: BC(15/04,5200m),ABC(19/04,6400m),C1(04/05,7000m),C2(17/05,7700m), C3(18/05,8300m),Smt(19/05) Left: 24/05/2013 Hired: 1 Term: Success (5:00 am) Team left C3 at 11 pm on 18 May. Weather was calm and clear. There were about 10 other people on the summit. They spent about 45 minutes on the summit and descended to C1, where they arrived at 3:30 pm. Oxygen: Taken and used from 7100m to top to 7100m by Tsang Taken and used from 7700m to top to 7700m by Pasang Dawa Sherpa: Pasang Dawa, Khumjung, 16/6/80 Yoshiharu Nakamura (Japan) Name: None Camps: BC(15/04,5100m),ABC(15/04,6400m),C1(04/05,7000m),C2(18/05,7700m), C3(19/05,8300m),Smt(20/05) Left: 22/05/2013 Hired: 1 Term: Success (7:25 am) Team left C3 at 9 pm on 19 May. Weather was calm and clear. They spent about 45 minutes on the summit and descended to C1, where they arrived at 4:30 pm and spent the night. The following day they descended to ABC. Oxygen: Taken and used from 7700m to top to 7700m by Nakamura Taken and used from 8300m to top to 8300m by Gyaluk Sherpa: Gyaluk (Gyalu Lama), Patle, Okhaldhunga, 21/8/75 Zoltan Benedek (Austria) Name: Solo and Doppelpack to Everest Camps: BC(16/05,5300m),ABC(19/05,6400m),C2.5(21/05,7900m),xxx(22/05,8700m) Left: 26/05/2013 Hired: 0 Term: Abandoned at 8700m due to too cold and cold feet On 21 May Benedek left ABC at 7 am. He reached his high camp at 8 pm. Weather was windy. He rested there until 10 pm and started his summit attempt. He reached 8700m at 7 am. At that time the wind had picked up again. He was feeling too cold and turned back and descended to ABC where he arrived at 5 pm. He was completely exhausted. Oxygen: Not used Sherpa: None
