| Route Notes | High Point 19 May at 8400m by Yehuda, Pemba Jangbu at 11:45 am. Ben Yehuda left C4 at 8 pm on 19 May. They were the first people to leave. It was very windy. When they got to the Balcony at 11 pm they found Muharrem from Turkey lying there. He started talking to him and he knew that he would not summit as he had to help his friend down. The Canadian-Nepali girl was lying next to him, dead. He clipped him into his harness and Pemba put him on a short rope and they dragged him down to C4, where they arrived at 6 am. They rested their for 4 hours and went down to C2, arrived at 6 pm. They were rescued after Ben Yehuda called his insurance company in Israel from 6700m; they were heli-rescued by Simone Moro from C2 on 21 May and were flown straight to Kathmandu via, Pheriche and Lukla. Oxygen: Taken and used by Ben Yehuda from 7700m to high point, then he ran out. Taken and used by Sherpa from C4 to high point Sherpas: Pemba Jangbu, Bupsa, Jubing, Solu, 16/2/1986, Everest X1, Manaslu X1 |
