Route Notes Ms. Kazemi and Nima Gyalzen left C4 for Everest's summit at 1:00 am on 18 May. They followed behind the rope fixers from American expedition to the top. They returned to Everest C4 on the South Col for that night and next day, the 19th, they moved to C4 at 7800m on Lhotse's West Face. The weather changed that night, it was windy and snow fell all night, so on the 20th they descended to C2 in the Western Cwm and stayed there until the 24th, when they returned to their Lhotse C4 at 7800m. On 25 May, they left C4 at 1:00 am and reached Lhotse's summit at 7:00 am after Indians fixed rope to the top. The weather was clear with only a light wind. But Lhotse was very dangerous from frequent rockfall. On her way to the summit, at 5:30 am, Ms Parvaneh was hit on the cheek by a small rock that was falling fast and caused her cheek to bleed, but nevertheless she managed to summit and descend to C2 at 1:30 pm. She was back in BC on the 26th, left BC on the 28th, and was stuck at Lukla for three days before she could get a plane seat to return to Kathmandu on 2 June. Ms. Kazemi is the first Iranian woman to summit both Everest and Lhotse in the same season, and indeed the same week. Sherpa: Nima Gyalzen Sherpa, 9/8/85, Beding, Everest X4, Cho Oyu X2, Manaslu X3
