Route Notes Kim Young-Il, Song, Sanu, Wangchukal and Tashi left C4 at 8 pm on 18 May for summit. They got to the top at 7:05 am of 19 May and stayed on summit for 40 minutes. Kim Young-Il returned to C4 at 9:30 pm. He spent the night at C1. Next day 20 May he slept at C2 and following day on 21 May went down to BC. Other member Song was stuck at Hillary Step for four hours due to heavy traffic. He was rescued by Sherpas from Hillary Step. Later he was partly snowblind and his climbing Sherpas bought him down to Balcony where he collapsed [and died]. On 24 May, a team of six Sherpas sent up to collect the body. On 25 May the Sherpa team brought the body to C3 and next day 26 May they arrived at C2. On 27 May the body was helicoptered from C2 to Kathmandu. On 29 may the body was cremated in Swayambhu, Kathmandu at the presence of Song's uncle and brother who arrived Kathmandu on 28 May. Kim Jin-Sung and Park went up to C3 on 30 April. Kim Jin-Sung was tired, so he did not try to go to summit. Park's plan was to go to Everest and Lhotse. He dropped his plan due to the death of Song.
