He had been feeling sick with gastro-intestinal distress. He reached the balcony (8400m) at about 2 am and realized that he was too slow as he had been vomiting a few times on his way up. He turned back to C4 where he arrived at 6 am. The rest of the team carried on and spent about half an hour on the summit. They descended to C4, where they arrived at 12:30 pm. The same day (26 May) Klinke left C4 at 1 pm to recover at C2 and on 27 May he descended to BC. Summit team descended to C2 on 27 May and BC on 28 May. Everyone left BC on 29 May. Farajian reached 5800m on 22 April. As was too slow through the icefall, Klinke made him turn back to BC. On their descent, Farajian developed a tightness in his chest. Back at BC he went to the HRA clinic and was diagnosed with a heart problem, possible heart attack. On 23 April he took a helicopter together with Sfeir. In Kathmandu, he went to CIWEC, wehre they diagnosed him with a heart attack. He stayed in hospital for 10 days. Sfair never left BC. He did not join the others on their way to C1 as he was not feeling well that morning. When his friend was sick, he decided to go to Kathmandu with him.
