Route Notes Summit on 19 May by Galvan at 11 am. Galvan left C4 at 9 pm on 18 May. Many people were on the fixed lines. He unclipped from the fixed lines at the beginning of the climb (just outside C4) to overtake the long lines. He waited for about one hour at the Hillary Step. He spent about 20 minutes on the summit. He descended to C4, where he arrived at 6 pm. The next day he broke down his camp and descended to C2. On 21 May he descended to BC and left BC with Gonzalez on 22 May. They reached Lukla on 25 May, waited for flights for two days and then walked to Jiri, where they arrived on 28 May. Bus to Kathmandu. Gonzalez reached C2 on 25 April and spent two nights there. He had a bad cough and was not very well and also a bit traumatized by the Sherpa who fell into the crevasse and died. He descended to BC and stayed there for the rest of the expedition. Oxygen: not taken, not used.
